CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
- filing in the registration form in the web site
- full payment of starting fee via bank transfer
- signing the starting list prior to the start
- riders under 18 will not be admitted to the race
- riders take full responsibility for their partaking in the race

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS
- accomodation and boarding for accompanying persons (without transport between stages): 200Euro
- transport of people and luggage after withdrawing in the middle of the race (prices in preparation)
- massage after each stage
After registrating on-line, please send the registration fee by bank tranfer according to the above-mentioned price list. Only bank transfers into the organiser's bank account are accepted. If you fail to pay the full registration fee within 15 days of on-line registration, the team is removed from the waiting list. After your bank tranfer is registered in the organiser's bank account, the team is included in the starting list.
WITHDRAWAL FROM THE RACE - FEES
- till 16 June 2010 - refund of registration fee minus 100PLN and promotional gifts' worth (refunds will be realised within 14 days of receiving a written resignation sent by registered mail – please include your address and bank account number)
- after 16 June 2010 – no refund is offered.
All alterations in the team memebership up till 60 days before the race are free. Later alterations cost 30Euro.
In case of disqualification or withdrawal during the race there will be no refund.
RACE RULES
TransCarpatia 2010 stage race will be held according to these rules and regulations.
- All disputes will be resolved by the committee of referees together with the organiser.
- All participants have to enter as individual riders or in teams of two, the make-up of which must not change throughout the race.
- Members of team must check in within 2 minutes of each other at any stage of the race.
- The time made by the second athlete from a team will be taken down as the team time.
- The winners in all categories must cover the seven-stage distance in the shortest time.
- Loss or damage of the starting number, which will disable the referees to identify the athlete, will be penalised.
- Only technically flawless mountain bikes will be admitted to the race. Participants are responsible for their bikes' condition.
- The doctor has the right to remove any athlete whom he thinks physically unfit to continue the race.
MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
- first aid kit,
- at least 3 litres of drink per team
- maps (supplied by the organiser)
- mobile phone
- basic bike repair equipment
- spare inner tube
RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
TransCarpatia is a race which is completed by following the route by means of the marked reccommended route. Although the race will lead mainly (about 90%) along tourist routes, it is advisable to possess a mileage counter, an altimeter and a compass. GPS equipment may also be used.
START
Timing will start according to the stage schedule. The start line will be open for 15 minutes after the start signal. The athletes who happen to start later will not qualify for placement and will not be treated as race finishers. After the start time third party technical help is not allowed.
FINISH
The finish line is closed at 7 p.m. every day. Teams checking in later may continue the race but will not be treated as finishers. Stage winners must be present at the award distribution time. Absence will be fined with time penalty.
CHECK POINTS
There will be between 5 and 10 checkpoints at each stage. Teams not checking in at any of these will be disqualified. The exact location of control points will be given.
REFRESHMENT POINTS
Athletes ought to have enough water and food for the race, but the organiser will supply extra water, energy bars, soft drinks and fruit which will be available at refreshment points. The exact location of these will be given.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
Team members may not receive external help, apart from their team partnersor other contestants, but for the special zone. The support may include bike repairs, spare parts, drink and food as well as mental support. Bike repairs should be done in a visible area on the edge of the trail so as not to obstruct other athletes. Convoy is not allowed.
At each stage there will be a special zone in the vicinity of the refreshment point, where bike repairs can be made by the contestant, his mechanic or neutral help.
TEAM WITHDRAWAL
Participants who cannot continue the race for any reason must inform the organisers of their decision either on the start or finishing line or by calling the mobile phone number given in the road book. Failure to inform the organiser may cause a search and rescue action. The participant will be charged with the cost of that action.
DOPING CONTROL
The organisers of TransCarpatia reserve the right to make doping tests. Each case of doping will cause disqualification. Results of testing will be sent to the cycling organisation in the participant’s home country.
DISQUALIFICATION
A team may be disqualified for the following reasons:
- no shell helmet,
- disposing garbage
- disrespect for the environment
- exceeding time difference limit between members of 2 minutes for three times
- deficiencies in equipment and technical problems
- health problems
- violating fair-play rules
- unsportmanlike conduct
- pushing or pulling by a third person
- violating traffic regulations.
In case of disqualification during the race there will be no refund.
STAGE CANCELLATION
The organisers reserve the right to cancel the race or race stages or change the route on short notice due to fire bans/fire closures, weather conditions, safety concerns, flood, or acts of god or other such reasons.
LIABILITY
Each participant-athlete is responsible for his/her own security and must take upon himself/herself the risk of injury or material damage. The organisers, sponsors and volunteers are in no way liable for any injury or damage incurred during the race and the participants will be required to sign a waiver declaring their full responsibility for risk of injury to themselves or their equipment and any lost or stolen items.
FAIR PLAY RULES
- slower participants must make way for the faster racers
- riders must take caution when the route is difficult, not clear or approaching an intersection or roadway
- riders should be prepared to stop riding during steep downhills
- riders must obey traffic rules and the highway code
- bike repairs should be done in a visible area on the edge of the trail
- in the case of a sprint to the finish participants must remain in their own lanes
LUGGAGE TRANSFER
Each participant must deposit his/her luggage in the organiser’s truck before the start. Luggage will be transferred to the next stage camp. No additional or third person’s luggage will be accepted.
The organisers are not responsible for stolen items.
NATURE CONSERVATION
Participants must respect the environment. Disposing garbage or deliberate damage of nature will lead to disqualification. No glass containers are allowed during the race.
PLACEMENT
The winner of the race will have to cover all the 7 stages in the shortest time. If two or more teams happen to have the same time results, the winner is the team whose time was the shortest in the final stage. After each stage the organiser will pick the leader in the general placement. If two or more teams happen to have the same time results, the leader of the stage is the team whose time was the shortest in this particular stage. Classification leaders are obliged to ride in TransCarpatia leaders' jerseys.
TIME LIMITS
The finish line closes at 7 p.m.
TRAFFIC
- there will be no diverted traffic during the TransCarpatia race
- there is right-hand traffic in Poland
- participants must take into account the possibility of traffic on forest roads and cart-roads
- participants are asked to remain on the right-hand side of any road and to obey the traffic rules
- the organiser will not take responsibility for any collisions and accidents on the route
PRIZES
- the organiser has prepared prizes for stage winners
- there will also be drawing of prizes among all competitors
- age category winners will receive trophies
- three winning teams in each category are obliged to be present at every winner presentation ceremony (otherwise all the participants draw lots to choose who prize will be given to)
PENALTIES
- admonition
- time penalty
- disqualification
- suspension
PROTESTS
Protests must be filed in writing to the race referee during the race. There is a protest fee of 100PLN. Should the protest not be acknowledged, the protest fee will not be refunded. The final decision lies in the race referee's hands.
FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
- the organiser will not take responsibility for accidents during the race or when the riders travel to the start line or from the finish line
- athletes take full responsibility for their security in the race
- the organiser will not be liable for any losses incurred during race days
- ignorance of the regulations will not be accepted as an excuse
- health and accident insurance and civil liability insurance is mandatory
- bikes bearing no start numbers will be removed from the route
- there are steep climbs and descents on the route
- race will be held regardless of the weather and cancelled solely in the case of natural calamity
- in the case of stage cancellation the participants will be transferred to the next stage
- in case of withdrawal during the race there will be no refund of costs
- a registered participant accepts the rules and regulations of the race and agrees to his/her personal data processing
- the organiser together with the race referee reserve the right to additionally interpret or change the regulations

- race will be held regardless of the weather and cancelled solely in the case of natural calamity
- in the case of stage cancellation the participants will be transferred to the next stage
- in case of withdrawal during the race there will be no refund of costs
- a registered participant accepts the rules and regulations of the race and agrees to his/her personal data processing
- the organiser together with the race referee reserve the right to additionally interpret or change the regulations
